Important 2026 Primary Election Information for Ravalli County Voters

As we approach the 2026 Primary Election, it is important for voters across Ravalli County to be informed and prepared to participate.

Ballots for the June 2 election will be mailed beginning May 8, 2026 to voters who are registered for absentee voting. If you are expecting a ballot, please watch your mail closely.

One of the most important updates for this election is a requirement that has caused confusion in past cycles. When returning your ballot, you must sign the return envelope and include your birth year. Ballots that are returned without this information may be rejected and not counted.

To ensure your vote is counted, please take a few moments to carefully follow all instructions provided with your ballot. After completing your ballot, place it in the return envelope, sign where indicated, include your birth year, and return it as early as possible. All mailed ballots must be received by 8:00 PM on Election Day, June 2, 2026.

For those who prefer to vote in person, polling locations will be open on Election Day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Ravalli County voting locations include:

• Darby High School Gym (Precincts 1–3)

• Hamilton High School Gym (Precincts 4–10)

• Corvallis High School Gym (Precincts 11–14)

If you are not yet registered to vote, you still have time. Montana offers same-day voter registration. You may register:

• Online or check your registration status at the Montana Secretary of State’s website: https://sosmt.gov/elections

• In person at the Ravalli County Elections Office: 215 S 4th Street, Suite C, Hamilton, MT

Same-day registration is also available at your polling place on Election Day. Be sure to bring a valid form of identification.
